Welcome
Hello! I am Guillaume Papuga, lecturer in ecology at the University of Montpellier and member of the AMAP laboratory.
My research focuses on the conservation of plants and habitats, with a strong emphasis on Mediterranean ecosystems. I combine field ecology, biogeography and statistical modeling to better understand plant diversity, distribution limits, and responses to environmental change.
I am particularly interested in bridging the gap between science and conservation practice. This includes demographic monitoring of plant populations, ecological niche analyses, experimental translocations, or management planning.
I use R for data analysis, and I have solid expertise in field botany across Mediterranean, temperate and alpine ecosystems.
Since 2019, I have been teaching ecology, evolution, conservation biology and data analysis at the University of Montpellier. I supervise several PhD and MSc students, and I recently obtained my Habilitation to Supervise Research (HDR, 2025).
If you are interested in my work, feel free to explore my projects and publications, or get in touch!
